Process: Our internationally famous batik products are hand-printed by local artisans in central India, the skills of which have been passed down from generation-to-generation. Batik is a cloth that is traditionally made using manual wax-resist dyeing. Selected areas of the cloth are blocked out by brushing or drawing hot wax over them, and the cloth is then dyed. The parts covered in wax resist the dye and remain the original color. This process of waxing and dyeing is repeated to create more elaborate and colorful designs.
